Gothic – the next stage in the development of medieval art, second pan-European style. The term “Gothic” coined by Italian humanists to denote everything that is not related to classic, antique designs, that is, in their opinion, ugly associated with complete barbarism (Goths – “barbarian” Germanic tribe).
The Gothic style . prevailed in Western Europe in the XIII – XIV centuries became the Supreme artistic synthesis of the middle ages.
A leading art form in the Gothic remained the architecture, and its highest achievement was the construction of city cathedrals, causing a feeling of lightness, especially lightness and spirituality. In contrast to the Romanesque Gothic Cathedral – city building, soaring, dominant over the whole urban development. Continue reading
Among the sights of Sweden old Lech castle is notable for its age and fantastic architecture. Built in 1298 by Bishop Brynolf Algotsson, it often changed owners (including the Royal family) until it became the property of the Swedish state. In fairness we must admit that the original building has remained virtually the Foundation.
In 1470 there occurred a strong fire and the new owner, the Bishop of Brynolf Verlassen, rebuilding it anew. During the reformation the castle became the property of king Gustav I Vasa. In 1543 the owner of the castle becomes the Regent Sture Swant. Then his cousin, Hobenshield Belike. For two years the castle became the property of Sweden, so the king struggled with the extravagance among the nobility. After the execution Bilke, accused of treason, the castle was a wedding present to the Duke Johan Estergetland.
Each owner made changes to the project. Further reconstruction, especially when the Chancellor of Delagardi in 1615, made his masterpiece and a triumph of the Baroque style, only emerging at that time in Scandinavia. For restoration invited the best artists, architects and sculptors of the world. At that time the castle was at its peak. Its name, the castle was in 1684 when its owner became a burnt, Papagaya called “the captain of the Lech”. Continue reading
Tower Kaknas is the largest center of Swedish television. Hence it is broadcasting and broadcasting via satellite. Launched the tower in 1967, after 4 years of construction. The tower, designed in the classical architectural style of 60-ies, was created by architects Hans Borgstrom and Bengt Lindroos.
The facade of the television tower decorated with cast raised print radio and television signals. The window of the restaurant and café, located at the top, made of glass with a special coating that blocks the sun’s rays. The walls are adorned with amazing artwork by modern masters. Once on the site of the tower was a small medieval village, which eventually became part of the ecological Park.
The height of the tower Kaknas 155 meters, with the antenna – all 170. Very long time it was the tallest building in Scandinavia. Today the tower is open to the public, is an entertainment complex with restaurants, souvenir shops and an observation deck. There is no better point to see Stockholm in all its stunning beauty. For one of the dinners I met a married couple who travel from Istanbul. Svetlana, our compatriot in the past, former athlete, he once met on the basis of shared Hobbies professional sports with a Turk (I can’t remember his name), and ten years ago moved to Istanbul. Now they have two children, the eldest of whom went on sporting the footsteps of their parents, and every year they rest on the Turkish part of Cyprus, complaining about expensive roaming between essentially two Turkish territories. She told me and suggested what things cost, how to get there and most importantly – how to find the nearest supermarket and to walk there without the risk of heatstroke. Same evening, as soon as I feel better so much that I ventured to foray outside of the hotel, we went there in search of cheaper, rather than in the restaurant, food and water.
The path was very pleasant, as promised, Svetlana. You had to walk along the beach, past the private beach until you see on the left of the underpass under the road, “more like a collector”. So it went, right on the water, sometimes plunging, why the heat is barely felt. On the shoreline outside of the official beaches were more narrow and wild, but fairly clean. Here and there rested the Turkish-capriccietto family, throwing sand on their mats and baskets of food. Continue reading
Now, let me responsibly say that the Great wall is not a legend, it does exist, it stretches for miles 5660, she is really over two thousand years. I visited there in September 2002, with your own eyes examined about fifty kilometers of the wall and spoke personally with a credible Chinese Museum workers, rasskazovsky about the history of the Wall.
In fact, the actual wall is only part of the grandiose fortifications on the border between agricultural civilization and nomadic steppe. The characters “Chan” and “Chan” (Japanese reading “those” and “Jo”), which form the name of the great Wall in Chinese and Japanese, does not mean “great-wall” and “long-strengthening” – the difference is noticeable, isn’t it? It is possible to allocate four basic components Chan-Chen:(1) FORTS and fortresses at the passes; (2) the chain of watchtowers; (3) rear garrisons and a network of signal towers; (4) the actual wall, between guard towers in a single line.
